Manila International Book Fair 2006
The biggest names in the publishing industry are set to gather anew for the 27th Manila International Book Fair (MIBF), the country’s paramount event for the book business. The MIBF celebrates the written word at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, Sen. Gil Puyat Ave. corner Roxas Blvd., on Aug. 30 – Sept. 3.
With the theme “Make it a Habit” the MIBF once again unites local and foreign publishers, wholesalers, retailers, book lovers and collectors, librarians, authors, publishers’ representatives, and every major player in the publishing industry in its continuing efforts to promote books and reading.
Attended by more than 50,000 people last year, the MIBF showcases the largest and most varied collection of literature, textbooks, educational supplements, general references, religious and inspirational titles, self-help books, management books, Filipiniana, coffee table books, popular novels, children’s books, art books, graphic novels, rare and hard-to-find titles, magazines, audio and e-books, multimedia, teaching supplies and services, publishers’ technology, and travel materials.
Now on its 27th year, the MIBF renews its commitment to stage the biggest book event in the country, bringing out the best in the book trade while holding creative special events designed to complement the industry and to delight book-lovers as well.
